Silver Air Sponsors Santa Barbara 100 Charity Cycling Event
Local and National Charities to Benefit More as Event Grows
Santa Barbara, Calif. – May 27, 2015 – Silver Air, the private aviation management and charter company with corporate offices in Santa Barbara, has signed on as title sponsor of the new Santa Barbara 100 (SB100) cycling event.
The Santa Barbara 100 is a non-profit organization run by a volunteer board of directors that donates all profits to charities supporting children and families, both local and abroad. It has donated more than $200,000 to charities in and around Santa Barbara the past five years and is expanding its focus and expectations for 2015.
“Silver Air has shown a passion for the Santa Barbara 100 and our charitable mission along with a vision that compliments our long term goals,” said Jeff Ridenour, president of the organization’s board. “The Santa Barbara 100 is excited to have Silver Air as title sponsor. This new partnership and some of the new ideas for improving the event will help us provide an even better experience for riders and raise more money for our charities.”
Silver Air’s founder and CEO, Jason Middleton, spearheaded the sponsorship in part due to his personal philanthropic goals and history in endurance sports as a past professional triathlete and Eco-Challenge adventure racing competitor. He has participated in the Santa Barbara 100 for the past five years.
“Silver Air is committed to the SB100, to promoting a healthy lifestyle to our employees and our community, and to helping raise awareness and funds for the charities the event supports,” Middleton said. “Our goal is to help the SB100 more than double its charitable contributions this year, and then continue to grow awareness and fundraising from there.”
This year’s SB100 takes place on October 17 and will maintain the same great Central California cycling course that thousands of riders have enjoyed over the past five years. Previously named the Santa Barbara Century, the ride takes participants through some of the most beautiful and challenging routes in the United States.
Three distinct courses are designed to suit various cycling abilities – each course offering a world class Santa Barbara cycling experience complete with famous mountain climbs and beautiful Coastal California views.
